Pakistan begins online payments for private Hajj 2027 scheme

Pakistan has commenced the collection of online payments for the 2027 private Hajj scheme. Following the start of the government scheme's payment phase, the Ministry of Religious Affairs is now allowing applicants to process dues through the official Hajj Portal and the ‘Pak Hajj’ mobile app.

To enhance transparency and prevent fraud, the ministry has mandated that all financial transactions be completed through these digital platforms. Authorities have explicitly advised pilgrims to avoid providing cash or cheques directly to Hajj organizing companies, noting that applicants will be responsible for any losses incurred through unauthorized payment methods.

For the 2027 season, the government has allocated 71,696 slots under the private scheme, in addition to 107,526 slots under the government scheme. The digitization process, conducted in collaboration with the National Information Technology Board (NITB), aims to streamline registration for both local and overseas Pakistani applicants.
