Pakistan Cricket Board accused of demanding $25,000 per player for NPL clearances

Organizers of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) have accused the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of demanding a fee of $25,000 for each No Objection Certificate (NOC) required for Pakistani players to participate in the tournament.

The dispute has created significant uncertainty for several cricketers signed to the league, including T20I captain Sahibzada Farhan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Hasan Ali, Haider Ali, Hussain Talat, Usama Mir, and Hunain Shah. While some players have already arrived in Kathmandu, others have halted travel plans pending resolution. Some previously issued NOCs have reportedly been placed on ‘hold’.

This follows similar allegations from Major League Cricket (MLC) franchise owners in the USA, who previously raised concerns regarding the PCB requesting $25,000 per player for clearances. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has not publicly addressed these specific claims.
