Pakistan Cricket Board announces President Trophy Grade-I schedule
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the schedule for the President’s Trophy Grade-I, a first-class tournament set to begin on September 12. The competition will feature eight teams, including debutants Kingsmen Academy and MIT Solutions, who earned promotion following last season’s President’s Trophy Gold final.
Eight teams will compete across seven rounds of matches at various venues. The opening round includes matchups such as Ghani Glass against Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) in Peshawar, and MIT Solutions against Kingsmen Academy in Abbottabad. The PCB also confirmed that the President’s Trophy Grade-II Gold and Silver tournaments will commence in the third week of September.
Pakistan ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi is expected to return to first-class cricket during this tournament, representing Khan Research Laboratories. This marks his first appearance in the format since the 2017-18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. His participation is viewed as a way to gain match fitness and practice ahead of upcoming international responsibilities.
