Pakistan Cricket Board excludes Atherton and Hussain from tri-series commentary

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a six-member commentary panel for the upcoming men’s ODI tri-series involving Pakistan, England, and Sri Lanka, scheduled for October 18 to 31. Notably, former England captains Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain have been excluded from the lineup.

The omission follows controversy surrounding an August 2026 interview conducted by Atherton with Kasim and Sulaiman Khan, the sons of jailed former Pakistani Prime Minister and cricket legend Imran Khan. The interview, broadcast by Sky Sports during the England-Pakistan Test at Lord’s, addressed concerns regarding Imran Khan’s health and treatment in prison. The PCB reportedly lodged a formal complaint against Sky Sports regarding the political nature of the broadcast.
