Pakistan cricket faces squad and captaincy changes ahead of upcoming series

Pakistan is preparing for a series of international cricket fixtures involving Sri Lanka and England. The upcoming schedule includes a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi, a two-match World Test Championship series, and an ODI tri-series featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and England.

Reports indicate significant changes to Pakistan’s T20 squad. Salman Ali Agha is expected to be removed from the T20 captaincy and the squad entirely, likely moving to the ODI format instead. Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi may also be excluded from the T20 setup, though he is expected to remain the ODI captain. Sahibzada Farhan and Shadab Khan are considered leading candidates for the T20 captaincy, with Farhan noted as a frontrunner.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the match officials for the 12 international matches scheduled from October 9 to November 21. Jeffrey Crowe will lead the playing control team for the ODI tri-series, while Dean Cosker will lead the team for the Test matches.
