Pakistan cricket team faces coaching changes and historic Test record decline

The Pakistan cricket team is undergoing significant management and squad changes following a series of losses against England. According to reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), led by Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, has decided to relieve head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul of their duties. Both coaches will remain with the team for the third Test in Birmingham, where Mike Hesson is expected to take over head coaching responsibilities. Hesson may also be appointed as the permanent head coach for upcoming home series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

In terms of squad adjustments, all-rounder Salman Ali Agha, along with Mohammad Rizwan and Imam Haq, will return home before the third Test.

These developments follow a historic decline in the team's performance. For the first time since 1987, Pakistan's cumulative Test record has turned negative. Following a defeat at Lord's, the team now holds 154 losses compared to 153 wins, marking a significant milestone in the team's recent period of poor form.
