Pakistan Women defeat Thailand to advance in Women’s Asia Cup

Pakistan Women secured their first victory of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 by defeating Thailand by 35 runs. Muneeba Ali led the Pakistani innings with a resilient 54 off 52 balls, helping the team reach a total of 119/9. In response, Thailand was restricted to 84/8, largely due to disciplined spin bowling.

With this win, Pakistan moves to second place in Group A, tied on points with India, though India maintains a superior net run rate. The result also resulted in Thailand being knocked out of the tournament.

Meanwhile, India Women opened their campaign with a 94-run win over Thailand, highlighted by Shafali Verma’s 64 off 36 balls. Despite the victory, India’s middle order showed vulnerability, losing seven wickets for 29 runs after a strong start. India is scheduled to face Hong Kong China next in Dubai.
