Pakistan has seen a 306% increase in active digital commerce payment points under the Cashless Pakistan Initiative, reaching 2.03 million by June 2026. According to a Finance Ministry document, 1.73 million merchants are now actively using Raast QR payments.
Digital financial adoption has expanded significantly, with the number of users accessing mobile and digital banking services rising from 95 million to 137 million. Digital transactions grew from 6.9 billion to 11.9 billion, while remittances sent directly to bank accounts and digital wallets increased to 92%.
Government-to-person (G2P) disbursements through digital channels also saw substantial growth, rising from Rs472 billion in July 2025 to Rs4.402 trillion in June 2026. Approximately 84% of G2P transaction volumes are now processed through Raast.
In response to the growing ecosystem, 1Pay.pk has issued voluntary guidance for merchants to improve security at physical payment points. The advisory recommends that businesses implement strict checks on QR code displays to ensure they match approved merchant arrangements and prevent transaction errors or fraud during the checkout process.
