Pakistan commemorates Kashmir Black Day in Beijing and Ankara

The Embassy of Pakistan has held commemoration ceremonies for Kashmir Black Day in both Beijing and Ankara to mark the anniversary of the October 27, 1947, entry of Indian forces into Jammu and Kashmir.

In Beijing, Pakistan’s envoy to China, Dr. Syed Ali Asad Gillani, emphasized the necessity of implementing United Nations Security Council resolutions to achieve a just settlement. The event included messages from Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister, reaffirming diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

In Ankara, Chargé d’Affaires Shaiq Ahmed Bhutto addressed a gathering of diplomats, politicians, and academics. Bhutto criticized India’s 2019 decision to unilaterally revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, stating that such actions violate international law. He noted that the unresolved crisis poses a risk of conflict between two nuclear-armed neighbors. Speakers at the Ankara event, including Turkish political figures, highlighted the humanitarian dimensions of the dispute and called for international attention to the rights of the Kashmiri people.
