Pakistan lifts petrol and diesel prices by over Rs13 per litre
On 11 July 2026 Pakistan’s government approved a rise in retail fuel prices, increasing petrol to Rs310.71 per litre (up Rs13.18) and high‑speed diesel to Rs323.30 per litre (up Rs13.80). The adjustment follows a surge in global crude‑oil prices linked to renewed United States‑Iran tensions and higher international market rates.
The Petroleum Division’s notification also raised the kerosene price to Rs242.33 per litre, while the petroleum levy on petrol and diesel was increased earlier in June. The hikes are expected to lift transportation costs and broader inflation, affecting household budgets across the country. The changes come despite a recent decline in global oil prices, as the government chose to pass on the higher costs to consumers while maintaining revenue from petroleum levies.
