Pakistan extends airspace ban on Indian aircraft until November 24

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has extended its ban on Indian aircraft using Pakistani airspace until November 24, 2026. According to a fresh Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), the restriction applies to both civilian and military aircraft.

The ban covers both the Karachi and Lahore Flight Information Regions (FIRs). It affects all aircraft registered in India, as well as those owned, operated, or leased by Indian aviation companies.

The current restrictions are a result of heightened diplomatic and military tensions following a terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in April 2025. Pakistan initially closed its airspace to Indian flights on April 23, 2025, prompting India to impose reciprocal restrictions on Pakistani airlines on April 30, 2025. Both nations have periodically extended these bans since the incident.
