Pakistan forecasts heavy rain and thunderstorms across Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore

Pakistan's Meteorological Department warned that the capital region and several major cities will experience heavy rain and thunderstorms over the next two days. In Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore, downpours have already lowered temperatures and caused waterlogging in low‑lying areas, while the department expects further rain in Punjab districts such as Murree, Gujranwala, Hafiz abad and Kasur, as well as in the higher terrain of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit‑Baltistan and Kashmir. The forecast notes a 35 % chance of rain and thunderstorms on Friday night in the capital area. Authorities highlighted risks of urban flooding, landslides in mountainous zones and advised travelers and residents to exercise caution.
