Pakistan fuel prices: Petrol decreases while diesel rises
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced revised fuel prices in Pakistan, effective October 16, 2026. Petrol (Super) prices have decreased by Rs 3.63 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs 390.23 per litre. Conversely, High Speed Diesel (HSD) prices have seen a slight increase of Rs 0.31 per litre, resulting in a new price of Rs 396.96 per litre.
These adjustments are based on fortnightly reviews of global crude oil prices and the Pakistani rupee exchange rate. While the petrol reduction offers relief to private vehicle and motorcycle owners, the diesel increase may marginally impact freight and public transport costs.
Additionally, the Petrol Relief Scheme remains active, providing discounts for specific vehicle owners. Motorcycle and rickshaw owners can receive a Rs 100 per litre discount on up to 20 litres per month, while owners of vehicles with engines up to 800cc are eligible for up to 30 litres of discounted petrol per month via a registration process through SMS.
