Pakistan gold price spikes to record high before sharp decline

Pakistan’s gold market saw a rapid surge, with the price of 24‑carat gold reaching a record 428,736 rupees per tola after a $91 jump in the international market lifted spot gold to $4,063 per ounce. The same day, 10 g of 24‑carat gold rose to 367,572 rupees and 10 g of 22‑carat to 336,953 rupees.

Within days, the local price fell by 5,200 rupees per tola to 419,636 rupees, and 10 g of 24‑carat gold dropped by 4,458 rupees to 359,770 rupees, reflecting a pull‑back in global gold rates. Traders and analysts linked the volatility to shifts in the US dollar, interest‑rate expectations and broader international investment trends, warning that further swings are possible depending on global economic conditions.
