Pakistan Gold Prices Slip as Dollar Holds Steady and Currency Rates Stabilize
Gold prices in Pakistan fell sharply on Tuesday, with the 24‑karat tola price dropping by about Rs3,800 to Rs429,736, according to the Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association. A separate market update listed the price at Rs433,500 per tola, reflecting continued volatility despite international bullion trading near historic highs around US$4,060 per ounce.
The US dollar remained largely unchanged against the Pakistani rupee, trading between Rs278.5 and Rs279.9 in the interbank market. Other major currencies showed little movement: the British pound hovered around Rs372‑Rs377, the Saudi riyal near Rs74‑75, and the UAE dirham around Rs76. Bitcoin rose to roughly US$63,700, adding another dimension to investor sentiment.
Overall, the Pakistani rupee’s exchange rates against the dollar, euro, pound and Gulf currencies stayed stable, providing limited relief to consumers and jewelers while market participants continue to monitor global inflation data and geopolitical developments that influence precious‑metal prices.
