Gold prices tumble in Pakistan and India as global bullion market slips

Gold prices in Pakistan fell sharply on Tuesday, with the price of one tola dropping by Rs5,600 to Rs424,136 and the 10‑gram rate slipping by Rs4,801 to Rs363,628. The decline followed a fall in international bullion markets, where spot gold lost $56 per ounce to trade at $4,017.

In India, gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange fell Rs499 to Rs1,41,351 per 10 grams, a 0.35% drop, while global futures slipped 0.71% to $4,031.58 per ounce. The moves were attributed to weaker spot demand and the broader slide in international gold prices.

Both markets are closely tied to the U.S. dollar and investor sentiment, with Pakistan’s local pricing mechanism linking rates to the international market at a fixed $20‑per‑ounce premium.
