Pakistan government directs recruitment and development initiatives in Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan
The Pakistani federal government has issued directives to accelerate recruitment for vacant civil service positions in Balochistan. According to an Establishment Division memorandum, all federal ministries and divisions must complete the hiring process for grades one to 15 by November 30, 2026. Candidates holding local or authentic residency certificates from Balochistan will be eligible for these roles based on merit, with specific quotas maintained for women and minorities.
To ensure broader access, authorities may relax internal restrictions that limit recruitment to specific tehsils, districts, or divisions within the province. The Establishment Division is providing special facilities for document verification and walk-in interviews, with selection committees to operate at the local level.
In a separate development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered the acceleration of development projects in Gilgit-Baltistan. The Prime Minister directed the swift completion of a 100-megawatt solar energy project and reviewed progress on hydroelectric, infrastructure, and digital projects. Instructions were issued to ensure the timely provision of funds and to remove obstacles hindering the completion of the Nalter Power Project and efforts to enhance anti-terrorism capabilities in the region.
