Pakistan government offers dialogue to opposition amid Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tensions
Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has stated that the government is open to meaningful dialogue with the opposition. Speaking in Islamabad, Chaudhry noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has personally invited the opposition leader to engage in discussions to resolve current issues.
Regarding the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Minister explained that the province is undergoing a third phase following the implementation of emergency measures and Governor's rule. The federal government's priority is to eliminate terrorism and establish lasting peace in 12 terror-affected districts. Once control over terrorism is achieved, administrative authority will be handed back to the provincial government.
In a separate development, Rana Sanaullah, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, accused PTI leader Murad Saeed of managing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government from Afghanistan. Sanaullah claimed that Saeed played a key role in the election of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and was responsible for the failure of recent negotiations, despite the government's offers to meet PTI's demands.
