Pakistan Hajj pilgrims pay Rs61 billion in second installments
The Pakistani Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that nearly 97,000 pilgrims have completed their second installment of dues under the government’s Hajj scheme. A total of Rs61 billion ($216 million) has been collected through the digital Hajj portal as the October 20 deadline approached.
Payment methods included 45,245 transactions via the 1LINK banking network, 3,685 via payment cards, and 47,563 through manual bank challans. The ministry warned that any applicants who failed to meet the October 20 deadline risked having their applications canceled.
In addition to financial obligations, intending pilgrims were reminded to download medical fitness certificates from the Hajj portal, have them verified by a doctor, and upload the authenticated documents to the platform. The government advised travelers to use the Pak Hajj mobile application and the National Information Technology Board’s portal for official updates and instructions regarding the pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
