Pakistan hosts farewell dinner for Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan ambassadors
A distinguished dinner in Islamabad, organized by Zafar Bakhtawari, Secretary General of the United Business Group and Chairman of D Watson Group, honored the outgoing ambassadors of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. Attended by Pakistani business leaders, diplomats and the Foreign Secretary, the event highlighted the deepening bilateral ties.
Azerbaijan’s ambassador Khazar Farhadov thanked the hosts and cited achievements such as the launch of direct flights between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, growth in trade, high‑level delegations and the ASAN visa scheme that eased travel. Kazakhstan’s ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin reflected on five years of cooperation, noting progress through talks and delegations and expressing hope to restore direct flights between the two countries.
Additional remarks from Foreign Secretary Hamid Asghar Khan praised the ambassadors’ contributions to diplomatic and economic cooperation. The evening concluded with the presentation of souvenirs, underscoring the strong people‑to‑people and business‑to‑business connections fostered during their tenures.
