Pakistan implements export relief and digital financial reforms
The Pakistani government is implementing several measures to bolster the national economy through export support and digital transformation. Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani met with exporters in Karachi to discuss tax relief and facilitation efforts introduced in the recent budget. To address operational challenges, the government has established Export Facilitation Committees designed to resolve disputes between businesses and authorities and protect exporters from unnecessary harassment by tax officials.
Simultaneously, Minister of State for Information Technology Shaza Fatima highlighted efforts to strengthen the financial system via digitalization. The government aims to expand digital financial services, such as digital wallets, to increase transparency, efficiency, and public confidence while reducing reliance on cash. These digital reforms are intended to support the wider digital economy and create a more efficient environment for investors through platforms like the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
