Pakistan Independence Day marked by diplomatic greetings from Russia and Turkey

On the occasion of Pakistan's Independence Day, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent congratulatory messages to President Asif Ali Zerdari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. In a telegram released by the Kremlin, Putin expressed his belief that bilateral relations between Russia and Pakistan will continue to deepen. He highlighted the productive nature of cooperation in political, commercial, economic, and humanitarian sectors, while noting the importance of coordination on critical regional and global issues.

In Ankara, a reception was held at the Pakistani Embassy to celebrate the occasion. The event was attended by Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, and Pakistani Ambassador Yusuf Junejo, among other officials. During the reception, Ambassador Junejo reflected on the historical struggle for Pakistan's independence and emphasized the deep-rooted cultural and religious ties between Turkey and Pakistan, noting that their relationship is built on brotherhood rather than mere necessity.
