Pakistan International Airlines expands fleet and restores China routes

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has received its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner, marking the first time an airline in Pakistan has operated this aircraft type. The Dreamliner, which arrived at Islamabad International Airport from London, was acquired on lease from Norse Atlantic Airways as part of a broader strategy to modernize the airline’s fleet and expand its international network.

In addition to fleet upgrades, PIA has resumed direct flights between Islamabad and Beijing. The airline will operate one flight every Friday between the two capitals. To strengthen its presence in the Chinese aviation market, PIA has also expanded cooperation with Air China, Shenzhen Airlines, and Hainan Airlines, utilizing Beijing as a key hub for onward connections to various Chinese domestic destinations.
