Pakistan makes squad changes for ODI Tri-series
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced several changes to its men’s ODI tri-series squad. Left-arm wrist spinner Sufiyan Muqeem has been released from the squad ahead of the Lahore leg to return to domestic cricket, with the PCB citing the nature of the local pitches as the reason for the decision. He is replaced by top-order batter Maaz Sadaqat, who joins the squad to provide cover for players managing minor injuries.
Additionally, opener Saim Ayub has been released from the squad following a request to return to domestic cricket to focus on his batting form. The team management and national selection committee mutually agreed to the request after discussions with head coach Mike Hesson. Batter Sahibzada Farhan has been brought in to fill the vacancy left by Ayub.
Pakistan remains unbeaten in the tournament, having secured a place in the final after victories against England and Sri Lanka. Despite their success, the team's top-order performance has been a point of concern, with the top three batters averaging 15 runs across three games.
