Pakistan warns of dust‑thunderstorm rain across provinces

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast of dust‑thunderstorm rain from June 2 to 5 affecting Islamabad and large parts of Punjab, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit‑Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern Balochistan and upper Sindh. The warning notes scattered heavy rains, hailstorms and strong winds, with isolated heavy falls in many districts.

The PMD cautioned that windstorms, hail and lightning could damage vulnerable structures such as solar panels, electric poles and billboards, and that landslides may occur in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit‑Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir from June 3 to 6. Farmers were advised to adjust crops accordingly, while tourists and travelers were urged to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel. Authorities were asked to stay vigilant and take precautionary measures to prevent any untoward situations.
