Pakistan minority girls face systematic abduction and forced conversion

A report titled ‘Stolen Girls’, presented at the European Parliament by human rights organizations Voice for Justice and Jubilee Campaign, documents a pattern of abuse against Christian and Hindu minority girls in Pakistan. Between 2019 and 2025, the study verified 210 cases involving abduction, forced religious conversion, child marriage, and sexual violence.

The findings indicate that over 83 percent of the victims were minors, with an average age of 12.8 years. The report notes a significant age gap between victims and perpetrators, who averaged 35.8 years old. Human rights advocates claim these abuses are facilitated by institutional failures, legal manipulation, and the use of fraudulent documentation to allow perpetrators to avoid accountability.

One documented case involves 13-year-old Amber Nadeem from Faisalabad. Despite testimony that she was pressured by the accused’s family to claim she had converted and married voluntarily, a local court granted custody of the girl to the man accused of her abduction.
