Pakistan MoITT issues cybersecurity guide and seeks digital investment expert

Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has launched two initiatives to strengthen the nation’s digital landscape. The ministry issued a new cybersecurity guide for government employees, officers, and technical staff across federal and provincial departments. The guide provides practical recommendations for handling sensitive information, accessing government systems, and identifying digital threats such as suspicious links and attachments.

Simultaneously, the MoITT is creating a new position for a Digital Expert FDI to attract foreign direct investment into the telecom and emerging technology sectors. This role is tasked with removing regulatory bottlenecks, developing investment proposals, and positioning Pakistan as a competitive destination for international digital investment. The expert will coordinate with various bodies, including the Federal Board of Revenue and the Special Investment Facilitation Council, to facilitate investors and represent the ministry at international forums.
