Pakistan National Assembly committee calls for FIFA reforms

The National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) has recommended the strict implementation of FIFA reforms and amendments to the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) laws. During a meeting chaired by Mehreen Razzaq Bhutto at Parliament House, the committee expressed concern regarding the declining status of hockey and cricket in Pakistan.

To address cricket-related issues, the committee proposed returning the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to the oversight of the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination. PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani reported that the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has recognized Pakistan’s efforts to develop football and noted that the FIFA Arena pitch has been completed, awaiting inauguration by the Prime Minister.
