Pakistan Navy locates K2 Airways cargo plane black box

The Pakistan Navy has located the black box of a K2 Airways Boeing 737-400 cargo aircraft at a depth of approximately 3,200 metres in the Arabian Sea. The aircraft crashed in July, prompting a two-month underwater search operation.

To identify the location, naval teams utilized specialised equipment developed by the National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM). The Navy described the mission as a first-of-its-kind operation for the service due to the extreme depth and complex underwater conditions.

Information regarding the discovery has been shared with the Bureau of Air Safety Investigation (BASI). Once the black box is successfully recovered and examined, it is expected to provide crucial flight data to help investigators determine the circumstances and sequence of events leading to the accident.
