Pakistan Navy rescues 19 fishermen, including Iranians, near Gwadar

The Pakistan Navy’s PNS Taimur responded to a distress call from the fishing vessel Al Jalali, which had suffered an engine failure about 120 nautical miles south of Gwadar in the North Arabian Sea. The Joint Maritime Information Coordination Center (JMICC) coordinated the rescue, and the navy crew provided food, drinking water and medical assistance before towing the vessel to shore. All 19 crew members – 11 Pakistani nationals and 8 Iranian fishermen – were brought safely ashore despite adverse monsoon conditions.

The operation highlights the navy’s ongoing commitment to maritime safety and humanitarian assistance in the region, building on recent similar rescues of foreign fishermen in Pakistani waters.
