Pakistan Navy seizes $750m in narcotics in Arabian Sea

The Pakistan Navy has seized over 2,800 kilograms of narcotics, valued at approximately $750 million, during a joint counter-narcotics operation in the Arabian Sea. The seizure was conducted by the naval vessels PNS Hunain and PNS Yarmook during routine maritime security patrols.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the vessels intercepted a suspicious boat and discovered the drugs hidden within concealed compartments. Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, commended the professionalism and vigilance of the officers and crew involved in the mission.

This operation follows previous significant recoveries by the navy, including a seizure near the Gwadar coastline in June involving approximately two tonnes of drugs valued at $215 million. The navy reaffirmed its commitment to maritime security and combating illicit trafficking to prevent the use of Pakistani waters for illegal activities.
