Pakistan officials deposit luxury watches and gifts in Toshakhana

Over the first quarter of 2024, senior Pakistani leaders placed a range of luxury items in the state’s Toshakhana registry. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif submitted two Rolex watches, a Patek Philippe piece, ceremonial swords, a shield, a portrait and various jewelry and memorabilia. President Asif Ali Zardari handed in a Vacheron Constantin Geneve watch, a tea set, a sword and assorted decorative items. First Lady Assefa Bhutto‑Zardari and Bakhtawar Bhutto‑Zardari also surrendered necklaces and jewelry sets. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar turned in a Rolex, a Chinese stamp and assorted cultural artifacts, while Information Minister Attaullah Tarar deposited another Rolex. Additional submissions came from the National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, NAB Chairman Nazir Ahmed and various senior staff, encompassing watches from Tag Heuer, Bvlgari and other high‑end brands, as well as ceremonial swords, tea sets, and other gifts received between January and March. The disclosures were compiled by the Ministry of Information and reflect the formal recording of gifts by public officials as required by Pakistani law.
