Pakistan prepares for 79th Independence Day celebrations

Pakistan is preparing to celebrate its 79th Independence Day on August 14. Across the country, cities are being decorated with national flags and lights, and markets are experiencing high activity as citizens purchase green-and-white merchandise, including clothing, jewelry, and decorations for homes and vehicles.

In Karachi, official ceremonies are planned at Mazar-e-Quaid, where government officials, including the Sindh Governor and Chief Minister, are expected to attend a flag-hoisting ceremony and lay a floral wreath at the mausoleum of Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

In conjunction with the national holiday, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has launched the ‘Pakistan Jitna Jawan’ campaign. The initiative highlights the company’s evolution from the Post & Telegraph Department in 1947 to its current role as an integrated ICT provider, drawing parallels between the nation’s transformation and the company’s technological development.
