Pakistan receives 21 new rescue vehicles from China for Islamabad
Pakistan has received 21 new rescue and firefighting vehicles from China, marking the first major expansion of Islamabad’s emergency response fleet in 17 years. The equipment arrived at Karachi Port and is scheduled to reach the federal capital within five days.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi inspected the fleet, which is intended for Islamabad Rescue 1122 and the Fire Brigade. The new vehicles will be deployed across six stations in Islamabad to enhance the city's ability to respond to road accidents, fires, and other emergencies. The fleet includes four aerial fire trucks, six fire towers, five fire tenders, and other specialized rescue vehicles.
Some of the new equipment features advanced aerial systems capable of reaching heights of up to 256 feet, specifically designed to assist with emergencies in high-rise buildings and elevated structures. Officials noted that this modernization is critical as Islamabad continues to develop new residential and commercial high-rise areas.
