Pakistan reports over 173,000 cases of violence against women

Data presented to the Pakistani Parliament reveals a significant scale of violence against women, with more than 173,000 cases recorded between 2021 and 2024. These figures include thousands of reported rapes, gang rapes, honour killings, domestic violence incidents, and approximately 90,000 kidnappings and abductions.

In 2024, independent monitoring documented over 32,000 cases of gender-based violence, including more than 5,000 reported rapes. The crisis extends to child safety, with NGO monitoring reporting that more than nine children are subjected to abuse every day in 2025.
