Pakistan security forces respond to Afghan border firing

Pakistani security forces have responded to unprovoked firing from Afghan border posts near Angoor Adda in South Waziristan. According to the deputy commissioner of Lower South Waziristan, the response involved targeting several Afghan border posts, mortar positions, and defensive positions.

The engagement reportedly forced Afghan Taliban personnel to abandon their posts and flee. No casualties have been reported on the Pakistani side in these border areas so far. This incident follows recent clashes near Angoor Adda that resulted in one death and five injuries among a local family.

Separately, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations, accused the Afghan Taliban regime of acting as a proxy for India and providing shelter to terrorists operating within Pakistan. He alleged that groups such as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) receive support from external actors via Afghanistan.
