Pakistan has conducted precision aerial and drone strikes against 10 locations in Afghanistan, targeting sites allegedly used for launching and storing drones. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated the strikes were a response to a “deliberate and unlawful incursion” on September 23, when Pakistan's air defense systems intercepted eight drones launched from Afghan territory. These drones were reportedly brought down near the Torkham border and in mountainous areas near Kohat.

The strikes reportedly hit several Afghan provinces, including Khost, Kandahar, Paktia, and Paktika. In Kandahar, a resident reported hearing jet aircraft followed by a large explosion and fire in the city center, which is the residence of Taliban supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada. While local officials in Khost reported no casualties, previous Pakistani strikes in Kunar province were reported by UNAMA to have killed three civilians.

The Afghan Taliban government has denied carrying out drone attacks against Pakistan, characterizing the accusations as unfounded. This escalation follows a period of heightened tension and recent militant attacks within Pakistan, including a deadly explosion in Kohat. Islamabad continues to accuse the Taliban regime of harboring terrorist networks, a claim Kabul consistently rejects.
