Pakistan Stock Exchange drops more than 2,300 points in market sell‑off

The benchmark KSE‑100 index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange fell 2,314.73 points, a 1.27% decline, closing at 179,927.05. Market capitalization slipped to Rs20.290 trillion from Rs20.503 trillion the day before.

During the session the ready market traded 845.279 million shares worth Rs35.551 billion, down from 948.776 million shares and Rs38.413 billion previously. Cnergyico PK led volume with 158.523 million shares, followed by F. Nat. Equities and Blue‑Ex Limited. Top gainers were Khairpur Sugar Mills (+Rs201.34) and PIA Holding (+Rs123.68), while Unilever Pakistan Foods (‑Rs445) and Sapphire Textile Mills (‑Rs64.04) were the biggest losers.

In the futures market, turnover was 189.239 million shares valued at Rs8.530 billion, with 41 contracts advancing and 258 declining.
