Pakistan Stock Exchange outlook tied to geopolitical developments

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) is facing a volatile period, with market performance heavily influenced by geopolitical tensions and domestic political developments. While the benchmark KSE-100 Index recently saw a weekly decline of 2,938 points, it also experienced a late-week recovery, gaining 574 points to close above the 177,000-point level.

Economic indicators show a narrowing current account deficit, which fell to $328 million in July 2026. Additionally, foreign direct investment saw a significant increase, reaching $179 million in July. However, large-scale manufacturing output has faced declines. The market outlook remains sensitive to regional stability and the ongoing corporate earnings season, which may provide further support to the index.
