Pakistan to host Canada for hockey series in 2027

Pakistan will host Canada for a bilateral field hockey series in Islamabad from February 8 to 21, 2027. The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) announced the series as part of a broader strategy to revive international hockey in the country and restore its presence on the global stage.

The PHF is coordinating with the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination and federal authorities to manage security, transport, accommodation, and sports facilities for the Canadian delegation. PHF president Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani noted that the tour serves as an opportunity to strengthen sporting ties and allow players from both nations to exchange knowledge and gain international experience.

In addition to the 2027 series, Pakistan has accepted an invitation to compete in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia in November 2026. The federation is also focusing on youth development, with the Under-21 team currently competing in the Sultan of Johor Cup in Malaysia.
