Pakistan warns Afghan Taliban over terrorism and regional security

Pakistan has issued stern warnings to the Afghan Taliban regime regarding the use of Afghan soil to facilitate terrorist activities within Pakistan. Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of ISPR, stated that Pakistan reserves the right to self-defence if the Taliban fails to honor commitments under the Doha Agreement to prevent terrorism from originating in Afghanistan. He noted that a significant majority of suicide bombers targeting Pakistan are Afghan nationals.

Reports suggest a complex security landscape where the Afghan Taliban leadership is accused of harboring and funding global terrorist groups, including Al-Qaeda and the TTP. Allegations have also surfaced regarding Indian intelligence agency RAW providing funds to expand terrorist networks in regions like Balochistan. Pakistan maintains a policy of not negotiating with terrorists, asserting that the current Taliban regime is non-inclusive and continues to support groups that threaten regional peace.
