Pakistan warns of possible US ground invasion of Iran

Pakistan has warned that the United States may be preparing a ground assault on Iran’s coast, a shift from the U.S. strategy of airstrikes and naval operations. Islamabad, acting as a regional mediator, urged a return to diplomatic talks and cautioned that such a move would raise the risk of wider conflict.

A leaked Pakistani intelligence document alleges a buildup of U.S. troops and equipment near the Persian Gulf, giving Washington the capability to launch a limited invasion of southern Iran to secure the Strait of Hormuz and protect maritime traffic. The assessment was reportedly shared with Arab media and conveyed to Iranian officials, prompting Tehran to issue warnings of possible amphibious landings and to mobilise local militias. Diplomatic efforts involving Pakistan and Qatar continue in an attempt to prevent an escalation.
