Pakistan weather forecast: New monsoon spell expected August 27

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted a new monsoon spell beginning August 27, bringing thunderstorms and showers to Islamabad and various other regions. While Islamabad is expected to remain hot and dry with temperatures reaching approximately 35°C to 36°C in the preceding days, the arrival of the new system is expected to bring stronger winds and increased precipitation.

Authorities have issued warnings regarding potential urban flooding in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of Punjab. There is also a significant risk of landslides in mountainous areas. Residents and tourists have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall and to exercise caution in low-lying or hilly regions due to the threat of flooding and water accumulation.

In other parts of the country, Karachi is expected to remain hot and humid with temperatures around 33°C, influenced by reduced sea-breeze activity. Lahore is predicted to experience continued hot and humid conditions without significant rainfall expected during the current week.
