Pakistani rupee marks 275 consecutive days of gains against US dollar

The Pakistani rupee (PKR) has maintained its upward trend against the US dollar, marking its 275th consecutive day of gains as of November 3, 2026. The currency closed at Rs. 276.71 against the greenback, continuing a period of stability that began on December 25, 2025.

In addition to its performance against the US dollar, the rupee strengthened against several other major international currencies. It recorded gains against the British pound, the Australian dollar, the euro, the Canadian dollar, and the Saudi riyal. The currency remained stable against the UAE dirham.

This period of stability in the interbank market comes amid geopolitical uncertainty related to the Iran proxy crisis. The exchange rate remains a critical metric for Pakistani households and businesses, particularly for those managing remittances from Gulf states or those importing essential goods such as oil, gas, and industrial machinery.
