Pakistan–Romania Business Council seeks to strengthen trade ties
A trade delegation from the Pakistan–Romania Business Council (PRBC) has engaged in high-level meetings to strengthen commercial ties between Pakistan and Romania. Key discussions included a visit to the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI Prahova) to explore a proposed ‘Ploiești–Karachi Energy Bridge.’ This framework aims to link Prahova’s expertise in oil, gas, petrochemicals, and industrial engineering with Pakistan’s growing energy and infrastructure requirements.
In a separate forum organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), participants discussed expanding cooperation across sectors such as AI, mining, logistics, maritime transport, textiles, and agritech. Officials highlighted the growing economic relationship, noting a recent agreement between the Port of Constanta and the Port of Karachi as a vital step for facilitating trade between Asia and Europe.
Diplomatic representatives emphasized that Pakistan offers a massive market for Romanian businesses, while noting historical industrial cooperation, such as the construction of a refinery in Karachi with Romanian support. Future areas of focus include clean energy, IT, education, and the defense industry.
