Pakistan's Hajj app records surge as India opens tour operator applications for 2027 pilgrimage

Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs reports that more than 250,000 pilgrims have registered for Hajj 2027 through its Pak Hajj mobile app and web portal, including 3,000 doctors, 45,000 master’s degree holders and 60,000 university graduates. A single day saw a record 12,880 online registrations, and the ministry indicated that future Hajj dues may also be collected electronically.

India's Ministry of Minority Affairs has issued a notice inviting tour operators to apply for the role of Haj Tour Operators (HTOs) for Hajj 2027. Applications must be submitted online via the Haj Group Organiser portal by 18 July 2026, with follow‑up paperwork due by 20 July. Selected firms will form Combined Haj Group Organisers to manage groups of at least 2,000 pilgrims, complying with Saudi quota allocations.

Both countries are leveraging digital platforms to streamline pilgrim registration and operator accreditation ahead of the upcoming pilgrimage.
