Pakistan's NHA raises M-2 motorway tolls by 7%

The National Highway Authority (NHA) has increased toll rates on the Lahore‑Islamabad M‑2 motorway by 7%, with the new schedule taking effect on 5 July 2026 and remaining in force until 23 April 2027. The revised charges apply to all vehicle categories: cars now pay Rs 1,430, vans Rs 2,390, coaster vehicles Rs 3,350, buses Rs 4,770, large trailers Rs 6,210 and agricultural machinery Rs 7,980. The per‑kilometre cost for cars rises to about Rs 3.98, and for vans to Rs 6.68. The increase is part of the NHA’s annual tariff review and is intended to fund ongoing maintenance, rehabilitation and modernization of the motorway, which is Pakistan’s busiest road corridor. Thousands of private motorists, commercial transporters and logistics operators who use the route between Lahore and Islamabad will face higher travel costs.
