Pakistan's SIFC coordinates nationwide business reforms
The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is leading nationwide efforts to simplify business regulations and reduce compliance costs through the ‘Asaan Karobar’ reform agenda. The initiative aims to improve Pakistan’s investment environment by coordinating between federal and regional stakeholders to reduce administrative hurdles.
A high-level meeting involving the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar, and Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Amjad Hussain Azar addressed the extension of these reforms across different jurisdictions. Officials reported that 557 regulatory reforms have been endorsed to date.
These measures are projected to generate annual savings of Rs460 billion for businesses by simplifying licensing requirements, reducing unnecessary duplication, and easing procedural burdens that affect commercial operations.
