Pal Arinsal receives Legacy Award 2026 for sustainable mountain biking
The Pal Arinsal ski resort in Andorra has been honored with the Legacy Award 2026 for its commitment to sustainable mountain biking (MTB) event organization. The award was presented by Warner Bros. Discovery Sports during the Golden Arrow Awards held in Lake Placid, coinciding with the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series finals.
The recognition highlights the resort’s “Leave No Trace, Leave A Legacy in The Pyrenees” project, which integrates environmental conservation, social commitment, and community support into its operations. Key initiatives cited include the use of renewable energy—which accounts for 33% of the station's energy use—carbon footprint measurement, waste separation, and post-event cleanup actions. These measures reportedly save approximately 310 tons of CO2 annually.
Beyond environmental efforts, the award considers the resort's impact on local mobility, accessibility, and economic support for the community, noting that local producers represent 75% of their total. Pal Arinsal has hosted eleven editions of the Mountain Bike World Cup and has three additional dates confirmed on the international calendar.
