Palacio de Ezpeleta courtyard to open as public plaza in Pamplona

The courtyard of the Palacio de Ezpeleta in Pamplona's Old Quarter will be opened to the public as a new urban plaza. This 1,300-square-meter landscaped area is the result of an agreement between the Department of Education, which owns the property, and the Pamplona City Council.

Access to the courtyard will be via San Francisco Street. The scheduled opening hours are Monday through Friday from 17:00 to 21:00, and on weekends and local holidays from 09:00 to 21:00. The City Council will manage the opening and closing of the site and handle cleaning services, while the Department of Education will remain responsible for maintaining the greenery and furniture.

The public access arrangement begins this week but is expected to be interrupted in January due to scheduled works to climate-control the building. Once these works are completed, the courtyard will resume its role as a public space under the agreed terms. Use of the area is subject to restrictions, including prohibitions on tobacco and alcoholic beverages.
